SWAT: One woman killed and seven persons injured in a blast on Tuesday in Makan Bagh area of Pakistan’s north western district, Swat.
The blast occurred behind the house of the girl student Kainat who was injured in a terrorist attack along with Malal Yousafzai few months back, the state radio Pakistan reports.
According to media reports the causes of blast have not been ascertained yet. However, police has cordoned off the area while injured have been shifted to the hospital.
It is pertinent to mention here that Kainat Riaz and her friend Shazia, had returned to school recently since the October 8th attack by a Taliban gunman in which Malala, Kainat and Shazia were severely wounded. The attack had drawn condemnation across Pakistan and worldwide.
The Taliban targeted Malala because of her outspoken and relentless objection to the group’s regressive interpretation of Islam that keeps women at home and bars girls from school. Malala is undergoing treatment in a U.K. hospital while her two friends were discharged after their recovery.
